Death in a Good District is a deep visual experience based on a poem by the artist's late grandmother Diana Ross, a well-loved and influential children’s book writer in England. She was best known for the Little Red Engine Gets A Name published in 1942. The sensitive photographs within touch o the feelings of loss and discovery that are common in relationships with individuals with dementia.

"I went back years later to document the house and discovered the old poem. It was written around the time her own Mother passed away in 1956. It describes an old woman wishing, as she lay dying for the innocent touch of her young children who are now grown up and can never regain the feelings they had when they were young."
—Will Anderson

Each book is handsewn and wrapped in a signed and numbered paper portfolio. Inside the book is a letter press printed facsimile of Diana Ross’ original poem “Death in a Good District” on which the book is based along with small pigment prints in a glassine pouch.
